Sandra Joshin Del Valle
Sandra Joshin Del Valle was a civil rights lawyer for over twenty years before becoming a high school English teacher. While a lawyer, she wrote a book on language rights and the law and authored several articles on the rights of Latinos. She is currently teaching and learning at Brooklyn Technical HS. She is a member of Zen Mountain Monastery’s Board of Directors and the Zen Center of New York City’s Temple Advisory Council. She also served on ZMM’s Beyond Fear of Differences Working Group which helped to spearhead the Monastery’s diversity, equity and justice work. She became a student of Geoffrey Shugen Arnold, Roshi in 2011 and a jukai student in 2016.
