For more than 50 years, extraordinary people have gathered at Drala Mountain Center to partake in year-round offerings featuring Dharma teachings and retreats, indigenous wisdom traditions, body awareness practices, contemplative arts, mindful living, Shambhala teachings, and other paths of personal transformation.

Taught by a remarkable array of accomplished practitioners and teachers, our programs offer something for everyone from the beginner to advanced student. We invite you to browse our many offerings and hope to see you on the land soon!

The Buddhist Path

The Buddhist Path describes all of our journeys from discovering the Dharma to learning meditation practice, deepening our understanding of the Dharma through meditation, retreat, teachings, taking Refuge and Boddhisatva vows, and more.

Whether you find yourself drawn to the Dharma in response to today’s fast-paced, high-stress, and highly contentious world, or out of a deeper desire for wisdom, understanding, and loving kindness, these retreats are for you.

There is something for everyone, whether you’re just learning about Buddhism for the first time or have decades of Buddhist practice under your belt.

Welcome to the Buddhist Path!

Meditation & Mindfulness

Meditation and Mindfulness retreats focus on the contemplative arts and range from retreats designed for beginners just starting their meditation journey to experienced meditators and mindfulness practitioners with decades of practice.

These retreats may feature a blend of wisdom traditions and practices from across the world, Buddhist meditation retreats, and secular meditation and mindfulness practices, including mindfulness based stress relief.

If you are looking for an opportunity to deepen your mindfulness or meditation practices, learn new techniques, or build community with other people interested in meditation and mindfulness, you’re in the right place!

the Natural World

If you’re looking for opportunities to spend more time in nature, learn more about the natural world, or learn how you can be a better steward of our natural environment you’re in the right place.

These retreats are focused on some element of natural experience, whether that means spending a day forest bathing near the Great Stupa of Dharmakaya, or learning more about natural food systems, how to preserve ecosystems, or even watching local wildlife do their thing.

Each retreat takes place at Drala Mountain Center, nestled in a stunning Rocky Mountain Valley at approximately 8.000 feet. Our land is home to many diverse native species of flora and fauna, hiking trails, a geodesic greenhouse, and more.

Join us in appreciating and taking care of this incredible sacred land!
