Mindful Birding: Sounds of Spring
May 3, 2025
Day Program, Four Seasons: Nature Retreats, On Land Retreats, Seasonal Retreats, the Natural World
Program Date & Time: May 3rd | 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Discover the beauty of spring and the melody of birdsong at Drala Mountain Center through the practice of mindful birding. This approach blends birdwatching with mindfulness techniques, fostering a practice centered on heightened awareness. The focus is not on identifying or labeling birds, but on slowing down and observing, allowing the birds to guide our attention.
Birds, with their captivating presence, spark curiosity, wonder, and awe. By intentionally engaging our senses and being present in the moment, we deepen our connection with nature, which benefits our well-being. This joyful practice not only reconnects us to the natural world but also encourages stewardship and conservation through a bird-focused gateway.
Extend Your Experience:
There will also be a Wild Tending: Nature and Forest Therapy program happening in the afternoon. You are welcome to register for this program if you would like to have a full day on the land!
Consider staying overnight to enjoy the sacred land of DMC for a bit longer!
