Program Description:
The word “diligence” may conjure up a sense of obligation or pressure, but in Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche’s view, it is “the force that allows us to engage in virtuous activities with a buoyant, resilient mind.” In these three teachings, Rinpoche will explore the meaning of diligence, or “joyful exertion,” in the context of Buddhist practice, and in relation to achieving success in any area in life. Rinpoche will teach from his new book-length commentary on the Diligence Chapter from Shantideva’s timeless classic The Way of the Bodhisattva.
“For any undertaking to be successful, we have to make the necessary effort. How much more so if we wish to achieve ultimate enlightenment for ourselves and others! In an age where it is all too easy to get lost in distraction and pleasure, this new exploration of Shantideva’s timeless advice is a much-needed guide to help us find joy in practicing virtue.”
—Pema Wangyal Rinpoche, author of Awakening Wisdom.
