Drala Mountain Center is a retreat center dedicated to wisdom tradition practices of meditation, mindfulness, yoga, contemplative arts, and being in the natural world. Having faced significant challenges over the last seven years, we are committed to transparency, integrity, and re-establishing trust with our supporters. Our mission remains vital, and we are seeking a strategic and driven Fundraising Manager to help rebuild our donor base and position us competitively in a crowded nonprofit landscape.
Position Overview
The Fundraising Manager will lead efforts to re-engage past donors, attract new supporters, and differentiate our center from competing organizations. This role requires a dynamic approach to fundraising—leveraging digital campaigns, donor cultivation strategies, and relationship-building to ensure financial stability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Base Rebuilding & Competitive Fundraising Strategy
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to rebuild donor confidence and attract new funders.
- Analyze donor data to identify lapsed supporters and craft targeted re-engagement strategies.
- Research and position our retreat center competitively against similar organizations in terms of value, impact, and transparency.
- Implement multi-channel fundraising campaigns (email, social media, direct mail, crowdfunding) to broaden donor reach.
- Identify and cultivate high-net-worth donors willing to invest in our organizational renewal.
Donor Engagement & Retention
- Strengthen relationships with donors through personalized communication, impact reports, and exclusive engagement opportunities.
- Establish a clear donor stewardship plan to increase retention and lifetime value.
- Host donor appreciation events, retreats, and behind-the-scenes experiences to deepen commitment.
Events & Community Partnerships
- Plan and execute fundraising and community engagement events to increase visibility and credibility.
- Collaborate with program staff to develop partnerships that position our center as a leader in meditation and mindfulness.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of fundraising experience with a proven track record of donor acquisition and retention.
- Strong ability to position an organization competitively in a nonprofit landscape.
- Experience in re-engaging lapsed donors and securing major gifts.
- Exceptional storytelling and communication skills to articulate impact compellingly.
- Proficiency in donor management systems (e.g., Network for Good)
- Passion for meditation, mindfulness, or holistic wellness is a plus.
