Good, because we’ve been looking forward to this one!
One quick heads up before we dive in to all the exciting things that have been happening on the land, we’re having a Town Hall tomorrow. That’s going to be your best opportunity to get the details and learn more about what’s been happening at Drala Mountain Center, and what you can expect from Drala Mountain Center moving forward. We don’t want to give away too much here, so consider this post a teaser with more to come tomorrow (April 17th, 2025).
Wait, you haven’t already signed up to attend the Town Hall Zoom Webinar tomorrow? No worries, just fill out this quick registration form and we’ll send you a link to the Zoom session before we start. See you tomorrow, 6:30 pm Mountain Time.
Have questions for Drala Mountain Center that you’d like Robbie Rettmer, our Executive Director, or Chase Usry, our Director of Operations, to answer? We can’t promise we’ll get to every question, but you can send us any questions you have through this form.
A lot has been happening on the land recently, and we’re excited for our upcoming busy summer schedule. Let’s dig in!
First of all, the staff and our volunteers have all been busily prepping for the summer season. There have been a lot of projects and things we’re working on, but here are just a few:
- Chipping fallen and burnt trees, leftover from the Cameron Peak Fire, into beneficial mulch which can be used in landscaping, to line trails, and help protect and restore soil.
- Painting the Rigden and Sacred Studies Hall Shrine rooms – uplifting the space and creating a more harmonious and peaceful atmosphere in the surrounding areas.
- We’ve purchased a small sawmill, which allows us to recycle trees damaged in the Cameron Peak fire into beautiful and functional lumber, which can then be repurposed into furniture, shelving, and much more.
- New mattresses have been purchased for some of our lodge rooms, ensuring everyone will have comfortable lodging during their stay at Drala Mountain Center.
- New Sheets have also been purchased, and we area pleased to report that we’ve moved away from artificial fibers and are instead using cotton, which is both more eco-friendly and more comfortable.
- Plus much more!
We’re also excited to announce that we are hosting approximately 100 programs this calendar year, not including space rentals and online programs. And looking ahead to 2026 and 2027 we are featuring and always looking for more retreats that, inspired by Buddhadharma, offer inspired teachings for everyone, from our Sangha that’s been coming to Drala Mountain Center for decades to first time visitors just finding their way to a wisdom tradition.
There is a lot on the horizon – to learn more about what’s been building at Drala Mountain Center, and what you can expect from us in 2025 and beyond, please tune in to our Town Hall April 17th, 6:30 pm Mountain Time.
Not available during the initial broadcast? Don’t worry, we will also be posting the video on our website, so you’ll still have an opportunity to see the updates.
