Jade Begay
Jade Begay is a multimedia artist, filmmaker, digital and communications strategist, and Indigenous rights and climate justice activist. Jade has partnered with organizations like Resource Media, 350.org, The Indigenous Environmental Network, Indigenous Climate Action, Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network, Allied Media Projects, as well as tribes from the Amazon to the Arctic, to develop strategies, digital storytelling campaigns, and short films to mobilize and create more awareness and engagement around these urgent issues. Jade is a facilitator in the Work That Reconnects, a methodology that supports people and especially activists in building resiliency as we work and move through these times of deep change, grief, and uncertainty. Jade is the Creative Director at the NDN Collective and supports this Indigenous-led organization in building a culture of equity, justice, and learning. Since 2014, while being at MA candidate at Naropa University, Jade has led groups through the Work That Reconnects (WTR) as well as other modalities in order to sustain themselves emotionally, spiritually, and strategically in activism work. In 2016, Jade joined a cohort of WTR facilitators who are decolonizing the original practices to build more equity and accessibility in the framework.
